I absolutely support and understand Mrs. Ali’s visit to the PM. Yes PM Hasina did tis to do politics with a battered family including a desperate wife, and three minor children. But on Mrs. Ali’s side, this family has to do everything possible to ensure the safety of the dear one. If that means going to the den of the devil, they would go.
I feel so bad for the children. The kids believe this PM is responsible for the disappearance of their father. Yet they are here begging for their father’s life. My heart breaks everytime I look at the stern face of the little daughter, her stern face with unmasked mixed emotion — ambivalence, hope against hope, fear, hate, discomfort.
It is a very unfair world. Very unfair.

And Newagebd in its editorial raised the question of PM Sheikh Hasina doing politics over dead bodies:
Prime minister’s assurance and a few questions
According to another report also front-paged in New Age on Wednesday, at a May Day programme in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday and in the very presence of the prime minister, the state minister referred to Tahsina as a ‘widow’ and said ‘you know in your heart who have really killed your husband.’ Regardless of the unpleasant questions that the state minister’s assertion has given rise to — e.g. how did she know for sure that Ilias Ali had been killed? If she knows it, does the prime minister not know it also? If the prime minister knows it, is it not mere rhetoric on her part to assure ‘all-out efforts’ to find Ilias?
………………………
Moreover, while the prime minister on Wednesday promised ‘all-out efforts’ to find Ilias, it is she who initially sought to blame the disappearance on the BNP and set the tone which some key functionaries of the ruling Awami League subsequently echoed.

Yes, it is a very cruel world. I’m sure when the Prime Minister thinks of people jumping up and down celebrating a birthday on a very sad day for her, she thinks so also. This blood feud didn’t just start last month when Elias disappeared.
So she’s the only one who does politics? The honorable leader of the Opposition, when she rushes to the side of victims, is totally noble and sincere, right?
The problem is, when you do partisan comments and anlaysis you cease to be a human rights activist and you become a politician. Nothing wrong in that, but then you’re no different from Sheikh Hasina.
Disappearance of Elias is absolutely to be condemned. No qualification. But the politicians are all the same class. No one is better than the other. Yes, current government has a responsibility to find him and make sure it doesn’t happen. But I’m not convinced the other side (and it’s supporters and defenders, whether proactive or passive) are innocent either.

Rumi bhai,
This is a real political education for the daughter. People seldom get one of those. Duas for all the children who have their murabbis torn from them.

It’s definitely heartbreaking for someone having such fate. Specially for the bereaved family.
My point is, there is a saying, ” Someone dies in his own way”. I am not sure as to what really has happened to Mr Ilias! But as I look back and evaluate the deeds of Mr Ilias Ali of last 20 years I guess, many had the same fate as that of Mr Ilias by him when he was known as ‘Pistol Ali’ in the University Campus.
May be today his family is crying, but many families cried due to Mr Ilias’ actions. May be many begged their lives from him and did get no mercy.
So, morale of the story is, everyone has to leave this world now, today or tomorrow.
